What is the last thing you would like to see on a blog? A badly written post with a ton of spelling and grammar mistakes. I can’t deny that I used to be a culprit of rushing a blog post for the sake of posting and end up with a whole lot of spelling mistakes and worst, I wasn’t able to get what I was sharing on the post across to my readers. Now that’s really bad blogging.

Sometimes to write a blog post you will take a few hours or even a few days to really come out with a very good post. I used to think that posting on a daily basis will keep my readers coming back for more but I was wrong, totally wrong. Seriously, it’s not about posting every single day, filling up the days to show to viewers and readers your blog is active.

Is this your last blog post?

Just one lousy blog post can make your readers think twice before coming back. To them it’s a waste of time reading those junk posts.

Like the title suggest, write every post like it’s your last. The key to coming out with a good post is not to type it out with your eyes and hands but to put your heart and soul into writing, genuinely communicating and educating your readers about a topic or something that you want to share.

6 steps to write a good blog post

1. Before you can write anything you’ll need to have something to write about. It will be tedious to sit down in front of your computer spending an hour thinking of what to write. So write down ideas even when you are not blogging. Problogger talks about his blogging workflow so do check out how he does it or you can also check out how I do it with my blogging ideas notepad.

2. Next, when you have your blogging idea ready, you’ll need to give it a title. Spend some time to come out with an eye catching title. A good title and a bad title can actually decide whether your content is being read or not. So do check out some top bloggers or writers and learn how they script their title.

3. Put down in pointers on the things that you’ll like to discuss on your blog and eventually elaborating it to a full length blog pot.

4. Understanding what you want to share with your readers is also another key to writing a good blog post. You’ll need to have an end result in mind, what you want your readers to learn or what is the message you want to get across to your readers.

5. Format your blog post. You wouldn’t like to read a chuck of text wouldn’t you? It goes without saying your readers wouldn’t like it too. It’s a pain in the eyes to read a bunch of text clustered together.

6. Last but not least and probably the most important of all the 6 steps is to spend time writing your blog post, never and I repeat, never ever rush your blog post!

I hope you are starting to realize the importance of writing a blog post. It’s not about the quantity, it’s about the quality.

What I have just shared with you probably contradicts with what some Internet marketing gurus are teaching. They probably teach you to hire some freelance writer, pay them a few dollars to write a 500words article. Well you can do that, but I won’t recommend you to do that for your blog. Remember, your blog is a place where your readers listen to you and only you. If you have to, learn how to write and communicate.

That’s it for today’s and by the way I spend 3 hours writing this post out not counting the time I took to plan it out.

Before I go, I thought you’ll like to know more about making money blogging. I just got the right guy that I can plug you to. He has developed a very powerful blogging system that you can follow.
