For instance, investing in stocks or personal development. With that, you can add them as friends and start communicating within the site itself - perfect networking place!

There’s another great function about these sites. You are able to reach out to more people through your friends. In another words, more traffic, more business opportunity for you. The numbers of friends in a individual network can be phenomenon. I have seen numbers as high as 30′000 over thousands of friends. Imagine, broadcasting a message and just converting the message by only 1%, that’s 3000 people!

The Bad Side!

When there’s the good side, there will be a bad side. People are exploiting the power of social networking sites and very often they spam endlessly on the site and that’s really bad! The last thing you want to do on these sites is get yourself blacklisted! You will either get ban from the site or boycott! So do not spam! But of cause, you can do it when its necessary.

Now we know the power of social networking sites and the next thing you ask is how to drive traffic. That’s probably your objective when you join these sites - EXPOSURE! There’s a proper and professional way to do so.

The first thing that you need to do is to provide information about yourself on your profile page. Imagine going to a page and all that you see is just a name in the profile page, that will definitely turn you off. Same goes to person that’s looking up at your profile. Don’t be shy to write about yourself (It’s online so it’s not too bad). There are many things you can write about, like, how were you like when you are younger? or talk about your passion in the things you do or talk about how are you involve in your business. Just a short and sweet write up about yourself will do. Think about writing a resume - that’s probably what you can put in your profile page.

The key here is to make your profile page as attractive as possible to keep your visitors entertained. This way, there’s a type of relationship being developed “virtually”.

Next, put some interesting pictures of yourself. A picture tells a thousand words and most of the time, your viewers will be interested to look at your pictures - in another words to check you out.

After all that is done! You may add a link to the site that you want to promote. For instance, an affiliate product that you are selling or your network marketing business opportunity. In my opinion, I would promote my personal blog instead of a product. It’s all about building relationship and letting your prospect or customer know you more. After which, they will have trust in you and the things that you are selling. The chances is much higher for you to sell your product or recruit a new downline.

The rules for driving social traffic is simple. Make your profile as interesting as possible, be nice and most importantly don’t spam. And one last thing, take the initiative to add new friends and communicate with them - you’ll see result faster!
