Welcome back to
Monday Night Traffic. Today is New Year Day’s eve and I’m very sure that many of you are celebrating with your family and friends. You probably read today’s lesson some days later.
Yes! I will be talking about classified ads today. I know what’s on your mind, classified ads is no longer workable or useful. Hold on there a second, classified ads do not necessary be the best traffic source that you can get however an additional channel of traffic will make a difference. Imagining having 10 sources of traffic from 10 different classified ads directories. That’s quite a lot of exposure. Spend some time to look for websites that is specific to your niche.
There are free and paid classified ads and obviously paid ads have better exposure compare to free ads but do not overlook the importance of paid ads. If you are able to go for paid classified ads, do give it a thought, like I said earlier paid ads have better exposure and if paid ads can drive more traffic to your website,
why not got for it?
It’s actually quite straight forward, the more ads your have on the internet, the more exposure you will get and the better the conversion. Here’s a list of recommended sites that you can go to:
1. Craigslist
2. Postlets
3. UsFreeAds
4. Ablewise
5. Sell
6. Yahoo
7. Excite
8. EP
9. Mocca
10. 5 Starads
Now that’s 10 recommended sites. If you want to post onto more sites, simply go to Google and search for more of these sites.
While some of this sites provide free services, please do not exploit it - don’t spam! Here’s a general guideline of what or how you should do when comes to posting classified ads.
- Place ONLY one ad per 7 days
- Try to make your ad completely different from the previous one
- Some of the sites allow you to use HTML within the ad, please use it and put clickable links (Need a little of HTML know how)
- Use keywords within your ads
- Be detailed and direct to the point with your offer
- Use linkbacks to your blog, website or salespage
- Avoid using exclamation mark (!!!) with in your ad copy
- Bold, underline and color words that are necessary
- Make sure that your ad is written in personal tone rather then a corporate tone or hypey manner
- Track Your Ad (Important)
The last point is one of the most important point! Please track your ad when you can. This is to make sure that your ad is converting. Adjust your ad copy and test different style of writing. If you notice that one site is not giving you any result at all, stop wasting time on that site and move on to another one.
That’s all for today’s lesson. I’ll see you next week.
P.S. If you have any suggestions or want to learn more on a particular topic please leave me a comment. Thanks.
