I’ve Got No Time

by Terry Tay on February 6, 2008

“I’ve got no time!”, I often hear this sentence whenever I’m having a conversation with a friend. I’ll probably asked, “How’s your business going?”. Then the answer will probably be, “It’s not good and I’ve got no time!”

Time Equals Money?

Ironically, people wants to be successful but they refuse to put in their time. I chose to optimize my minimum time and do whatever I can. Time equals to money. I disagree this statement totally. Time does not equals to money. When time past, it’s never going to come back but if you loses money in an investment, you will still able to make back your loses back from another business or investment. Time will never come back!

Time is much more valuable then money. It’s an asset that can’t be bought. I personally value time more than money because money can never buy time, however time can definitely buy money.

It’s Just Excuses

“I’ve got no time”, is just an excuse for not doing it. “It” can be anything that you define as success. It can be in terms of money, relationship, parenting, self-esteem, confidence or education. I’ve got to admit that I give a lot of excuses when I was younger for not doing something like packing my room or being the top few students in class. For all I know, I was always last few in class. It’s human nature ladies and gentleman, we all give excuses because we are not sure or we have fear in ourselves for not being able to complete the things we want.

Knowing What it Takes

For instance, if I ask you, “would you be able to make $100,000 dollar in 12 months time?”. Your answer would probably be, “I don’t know how” or “I can’t do that, 12 months is too short”. Now, if I tell you, within the next month you are going to meet a multi-millionaire that is successful and he is going be your mentor and teach you the steps that he took to make $100,000 (the same amount) in less than 6 months. Do you think you are able to make your $100,000 in 12 months? Most of us would probably say, yes!

The difference between the 2 scenarios is just the know-how knowledge. The multi-millionaire knows what it takes to make the money. The question is are you going to spend time learning the knowledge? Most of the time in life, we spend time entertaining excuses too much. It’s a waste of time. Instead, spend the time thinking of how can you do it. Like Henry Ford says it, “Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason why so few engage in it”… your mind is your greatest asset so use it.

You either make excuses or make your own success - no time for excuses!
