Don’t Waste Your Time On People That Are Not Interested in the First Place

by Terry Tay on September 21, 2007

Few years back, I was being invited to a network marketing business presentation by a friend of mine. I wasn’t interested in making money at that point of time and so I went over just to “support” my friend. She apparently send his upline, upline’s upline to pitch me into joining the business.

I didn’t join, I wasn’t interested in the first place and it’s very very obvious to know if someone is interested or not. They apparently didn’t know how to identify or maybe they are trained to just sell and sell. It’s just a waste of time following up people that are not interested in the business.

A couple of weeks ago, one of my downline forwarded me a MSN conversation that he had with one of his prospect. Well, I guessed it right. It was a long conversation. I took a quick glance and I knew his prospect wasn’t interested at all.

Here’s what you will hear if your prospect is not interested…

“So you must be rich and if you are rich with this program, why do you want to share?”

From this sentence, you can tell that he is not interested and trying to give excuses like this to make things difficult for you to explain.

“Honestly, I don’t trust this kind of program because they are bullshit!”

“Ok. What you mean by promote website? I’m not salesman!”

“But my work dun afford it.”

“Not everyone will succeed. Those salesman can… they are gifted. Ordinary people like me can’t”

“So whoever joins, the upline will be the ultimate winner!”

“Then other team members will slog hard for the upline”

“I’m working and I can’t come. That’s why i need to be very sure of this program before consider joining because I need work n can’t afford the time to go training.”

These are the typical indication or excuses that you will hear from people that are not interested. So be a smart marketer, don’t waste your time on these people. Move on to the next person.

Be a smart marketer!

This is a great example of where some type of automated or semi automated prospecting/sale’s funnel come’s in real handy. Having a system that sort’s the interested person from the un-interested person helps save’s time,
and money on your end.

A system can be as simple as a single autoresponder, right thru to a whole series of website’s and sales tools that breaks down your target market into subset’s of the main target group.
