What carrot? When I was young I remembered watching cartoon programs, showing a donkey chasing a carrot that was hanged in front of him. This is done so in order to make the donkey walk or run. Obviously, the donkey is not going to get his carrot unless his owner releases the carrot.

Remember seeing an illustration like that when you were younger or even now?

Have you ever thought if the donkey was just going for the carrot or something else? I believed that the donkey went for the carrot because he was hungry. The donkey was going for the carrot because he knows that the carrot could fill his stomach. Little did the donkey know that there are other alternatives of food out there and so it kept chasing the only food it knew - the carrot.

It’s the same principle when it comes to making money. Little did we realize that what often we are going for is not money but it’s what money can fill your wants and needs. We get so immerse with the idea that what we want is just making more money until we have forget our real purpose for doing so. And soon later, we find ourselves just like the donkey chasing for the only “food” (money) we know out there and 99% of the time people give up the idea of making more money in life because they find themselves going nowhere.

More Than Just Money

It’s definitely more than just money. Can money buy you happiness? No, of course not, we all know that but it sure does help a little for you to buy something that will make your love ones happy. For instance, bringing your family to a nice restaurant for dinner or taking your spouse for a second honeymoon trip to Paris or Japan, where ever what ever, you name them. Happiness is what money can’t buy but money sure can help you buy the things that will bring happiness to you and your love ones.

Most of the time, you will find yourself working for money. Take a look from a different angle, you want to have more money because you want to fulfill a want or a need. You have a purpose in mind and knowing your purpose can give you a greater booster to over come whatever adversity. Go deep and find your purpose in life.
