How many times did you send out an email without getting a reply? I probably did not get any replies before I realize the secret behind creating a responsive email.

Hear me closely, What I’m going to reveal to you will increase your response rate and also increase your profit.

Here’s the 7 secrets behind increasing your email response rate.

Secret #1: Personalization

What do I mean by that? I’ll show you an example and you will get a better idea.

Subject/Title:

“Did You Have a Good Holiday?”

“John, Did You Have a Good Holiday?” <-- Personalized

Including the name of the person you want to send to makes him feel that the email is written to him and not to anyone else. You use personalization in your subject title, header, body, call to action and even P.S. It is say that by personalizing, you can increase your response rate by 64%.

You see the difference between personalizing?

Secret #2: Curiosity

Do not try to sell anything in your subject title, instead arouse the curiosity of your reader. You need to create curiosity to make your reader open up your email and read whats in it.

Here are some good examples:

“John, Here is What You Should Not Do…”

“John, You Have to Keep This to Yourself…”

When your readers open and read what is in your email than only you can sell them something. get it?

Secret #3: Recommend

I believe you don’t like someone hard selling you a product or program. That goes the same for you readers, no body likes reading a sales page or letter.

However, its much better if you recommend or give them more information about what you have to offer. It can be testimonials from your other customers or even your own testimonial on how did the product worked for you.

Imagine recommending a movie or a restaurant to your friend.

Secret #4: Formating (Important)

Formating is important and I must stress that anyone sending emails to your friends or for business purposes to do formating. This is to increase reader’s readability. Make sure that each line is no more than 55 characters long. Let me show you what Im talking about…

Email Marketing Example

See the above example? The lines are flushed fully across the page, it makes it difficult for the reader to read and that can cause your reader to stop reading halfway.

Email Marketing Formated Image

See the above example? This is what Im talking about. Formating your email to increase readability.

Secret #5: Create Story

People loves stories, people loves to know what is happening around you. Don’t you feel that yourself when you get hook when reading someone’s email. Well I will read someone’s email if its interesting. It keeps me reading on. Create a story around the product or program you are recommending.

Secrets #6: Call to Action

Most of the time, people forget to ask their readers to do the things that they want them to do. Its human nature to do something when told. If you tell your reader to do the things that you want them to do, most probably they won’t do it at all.

Here’s 2 example:
“Click here, to get your free audio CD”
“Check this website out to know more”

Here’s a tip, identify what to you want your reader to do before you write your email. Its much easy when drafting your email around your “call to action”.

Secret #7: Get Feedback

For me, I like getting replies or responses from the people I email to. It feels great when they reply to me and at the same time you built a relationship with your reader. I believe that when your reader knows you better, they will trust you and thus buy from you.

Thats it, the 7 secrets that I use in my email marketing. Go work at it now.
