2 Hours A Week, That’s it!

by Terry Tay on June 30, 2007

My entire blog was DOWN today for about 4 hours! I did a silly mistake by overwriting some files and corrupted my whole blog file. How more innovative I can get?

So without hesitating longer, I login to Hostgator’s support chat line and requested to restore some of my files. Well, I must compliment that Hostgator’s support and help was wonderful though there is a restore charge at $15.

So if you are looking for a good web hosting, I recommend Hostgator.

I did not spend doing nothing during this 4 hours, I open up my word document and started to write an article about how a network marketing leader can do to increase their retention rate (I only took 45 minutes to write the whole article).

Today is a good learning experience, although my blog was down and I could not work on it, I move ahead to do other of my stuff. You can apply this in [tag]network marketing[/tag], if you hit a road block take another route. Right?

Don’t waste your time doing the things that you know you can’t, get help and move to the next task. That simple!

Before I sign off for the day, I’ll leave you with my article below.

When a member joins your network marketing business and sponsors his first member. He called you excitedly and asked, “I got my first downline and I really wish that he will stay for long. What should I do?”

My answer is, “Keep him close to the campfire!”

Frankly, there is no big secret in keeping your members in the business. If they decide to build the business or leave the business, there is not much the upline can do. Certainly, almost all uplines wants all of their [tag]downlines[/tag] to be super recruiters and power builders. That’s a typical upline’s mentality. Let’s be realistic, not everyone that joins the business is going to be super recruiter or builder.

So the question is how to keep your network marketing organization retention rate up?

There are many ways to do it but in this article I’m going to talk about one simple and traditional way that all network marketers whether offline or online should do it – team meet up session.

If you are doing purely internet network marketing and have never meet up with your team before, I strongly suggest that you schedule a meet up soon before it is too late. It’s proven that physical meet ups and communication can greatly increase retention rate.

There’s a saying that goes, will you buy from some one you completely do not know?

Most people won’t.

It’s the same principle! The more your downlines get to know as much as you get to know them, team relationships are created. Building the business together is much more effective and easier.

So, what you can do is to arrange a weekly meet up with you team on a weekly basis for about 2 hours per session. Your team meeting agenda should have a topic you are going to cover base on the nature of your network marketing company, questions and answers, individual planning if possible and a de brief.

Here’s an example of what I did for my last team meeting.

The topic I covered during my previous team meeting was about how to use blogs to build a relationship with your prospects. I basically went through the steps to set up a blogger account, how to make a post and a little of joining social book marking sites.

After the session on blogging, we had a question and answer session where we talk about the problems that they are facing with the business and some of their challenges. All the members can learn not only from me but from the other members about some of the problems they may face, which is beneficial to all other members.

If you promoting a health product and doing presentation every day is a must then, arranging a session to teach your team about presentation will be ideal. The list of what you can share with your team goes on.

The purpose of having a team meet up is more then just talking and knowingly more about your members. It is a great time for you to educate your team with the knowledge and tools to grow the business and improve their marketing or selling techniques.

Like I said, the secret to higher retention rate is actually constantly putting your downlines in mind. When they know you care about them, they will care to grow the business with you.
